Termidesk is compatible with Baikal-M
Astra Group member company "UVEON— Cloud Technologies has released a software client for the virtual workplace connection managerThermidesque". The solution is compatible with the protected Astra Linux Special Edition Novorossiysk OS and Russian processorsBaikal-M. Now the participants of the import substitution project can use 100% of the Russian hardware and software stack for workplace virtualization.
Thermidesk software is designed to deploy secure virtual workplace infrastructures, administer them, and centrally manage the full lifecycle of virtual machines. The product is in demand at industrial enterprises, in large or medium-sized public and private organizations from various sectors of the economy, including the segment of cloud solutions and services, education, banking, government systems, etc.
The use of Thermidesk makes it possible to ensure secure remote work of employees and optimize the cost of computing resources: the deployment and maintenance of virtual workstations is much more convenient and economical than the purchase and maintenance of a fleet of physical workstations.
"The new VDI software client is installed on a domestic PC or "thin client" and provides connection to a virtual workplace with various operating systems, including Astra Linux. The new product can be used together with the standard version of the Thermidesk product, suitable for working with the VMware vSphere and oVirt virtualization platforms, as well as with a special version — Termidesk for Astra, which is compatible with the Astra Linux virtualization system," comments Denis Mukhin, Director of Business Development at the company UVEON-Cloud Technologies.
The release of a VDI client for ARM systems with a domestic processor will allow many organizations to take another step towards implementing an import substitution strategy. At the workplaces of employees with the Astra Linux OS and the Baikal-M processor, you can run applications originally developed for Windows OS.
