Termidesk VDI and MIND Migrate enable migration of virtual desktops between infrastructures

Uveon-Cloud Technologies (part of Astra Group) and MIND Software announce the confirmation of compatibility between Termidesk VDI and MIND Migrate solutions. Joint testing demonstrated the ability to migrate virtual desktops from an existing VDI infrastructure to an environment managed by Termidesk, with data preservation and automation of key migration stages.

During the tests, a migration scenario was reproduced involving a virtual machine from an infrastructure based on VMware Horizon / VMware vSphere to a target environment on the VMmanager virtualization platform. After migration, the virtual machine was successfully launched on the target platform, passed data integrity verification, and was registered in the Termidesk pool as an available virtual desktop.

The confirmed compatibility of the solutions allows customers to plan their transition to Termidesk VDI with a minimal number of manual operations and a more predictable migration process. MIND Migrate automates the transfer of virtual machines between infrastructures, while Termidesk VDI provides centralized management of virtual desktops and secure user access to corporate applications and data.

During the demonstration, the key migration stages were verified: preparation of the source and target machines, agent installation, inventory, disk mapping, network parameter configuration, data synchronization, final switchover, target machine startup, and execution of post-migration configuration scripts. User data integrity was separately verified, and the results confirmed full compliance of checksums for the migrated files.

Compatibility confirmation is particularly relevant for organizations modernizing their virtual desktop infrastructure, transitioning to Russian software solutions, or building an independent technology stack for remote and hybrid work.

Termidesk VDI is a cross-platform solution for creating virtual desktop infrastructure and organizing secure remote work for employees. The official product description indicates support for a range of virtualization platforms, including VMware, VMmanager, zVirt, oVirt, OpenStack, and others.

MIND Migrate is a MIND Software solution for migrating virtual machines and workloads between different infrastructures. The MIND Software product description specifies migration scenarios between virtualization platforms and the ability to migrate with minimal downtime for a number of scenarios.

«For customers considering a transition from existing VDI and virtualization platforms to domestic solutions, what matters is not only the functionality of the target system but also a secure, controlled migration process. The compatibility of Termidesk VDI and MIND Migrate helps reduce the complexity of such projects and makes desktop migration more streamlined,» noted Sergey Khalyapin, Director of New Markets and Technology Partnerships at Termidesk.

«Confirmed compatibility allows customers to build virtual desktop migration processes without changing their familiar infrastructure management approaches. Automation minimizes manual operations and guarantees a stable result even in complex hybrid environments. We continue to develop our technology partnership ecosystem to make platform transitions as predictable and user-friendly as possible,» commented Anton Banchukov, Director of Product Management Department at MIND Software.
