Termidesk – Domestic Technologies for Safety of Fuel and Energy Complex and Other CII Facilities

Goals. This year the goals of the forum were a demonstration of the prospects of the Russian fuel and energy complex and realization of the potential of cooperation between the countries in the energy sector. the forum

The event was held with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Energy of Russia and the Government of Moscow, and was organized by the Roscongress Foundation. Heads of states and governments, representatives of major international energy companies, and leading global experts were among the participants.

Fuel and energy companies are extremely important for the entire economy, so a separate session was devoted to the import substitution of safety systems for CII facilities. The discussion, held under the auspices of the project "Digital Horizon", was attended by Evgeny Abakumov, Director of Information Infrastructure at Rosatom, Anton Dumin, Head of the Information Technology, Automation and Telecommunications Department at Gazprom Neft, Andrey Badalov, Vice President of Transneft, Dmitry Gogolev, Director of GR at NPO KIS, and DZ Systems CEO Dmitry Zavalishin, Deputy Technical Director of Positive Technologies Ilyas Kireev, and others. The Astra Group was represented by Denis Mukhin, Head of the Virtualization and Cloud Services Directorate, and Lev Paley, Head of the Information Security Services Development Department, who became a moderator.

During the conversation, the experts evaluated competitive Russian software and hardware systems, software, and the key advantages of their vendors. Denis Mukhin explained how VDI provides controlled access to critical information infrastructure and corporate data, which are centrally stored in a data center, reducing the risk of data leakage, and Termidesk, which has replaced VMware and Citrix, effectively manages restrictions. It allows you to limit access to peripherals and the clipboard, enhance employee mobility and reduce device requirements. Today, the product, along with Astra Linux and other Astra Group software, is actively used in the nuclear industry, as well as in major projects in the banking and oil and gas sectors.

The speaker noted that often in a multi-vendor infrastructure for integration VDI systems, additional resources are needed to ensure their compatibility with the environment and support. It is possible to simplify the interaction of technologies, increase their efficiency and accelerate the fulfillment of business tasks by switching to unified solutions and standardization. Another barrier when replacing foreign software is related to the timing of implementation and the need to train engineers. To resolve this situation, the developer actively cooperates with universities and helps create conditions for training specialists in working with Russian products. In addition, the participation of customers' IT staff in migration projects helps them master their features faster. The Astra Group always strives to simplify the implementation and operation of its software in order to minimize the costs associated with the total cost of ownership for customers, and significant progress has been made over the years.

"Our Termidesk VDI solution already implements controlled and managed access to corporate data and CII facilities, ensuring the security of which is a strategically important area of activity for the Astra Group. I am confident that thanks to the development of such platforms as Digital Horizon and the continued exchange of views during various discussion sessions, we will be able to completely eliminate dependence on foreign software in the near future," said Denis Mukhin.

"Import substitution at CII enterprises is now one of the most serious technological challenges, while it should be noted that the largest energy companies are making a real breakthrough in this direction today, and many foreign solutions that were practically irreplaceable two years ago are now being successfully replaced by domestic developments, not in words, but in practice. Digital Horizon ecosystem should help in this matter. I am confident that as part of the development of the project, we will be able to radically overcome import dependence in terms of software, microelectronics and other areas," emphasized Lev Paley.
