Termidesk Connect 1.2: Major Update for Fault Tolerance and Manageability of IT Services

Uveon – Cloud Technologies (part of the Astra Group) announces the release of Termidesk Connect 1.2, a new version of an application management and load balancing solution that helps ensure high availability and fault tolerance of services.

The balancing subsystem has been improved in Termidesk Connect 1.2. New algorithms have been added, as well as support for prioritizing servers of different capacities, and more accurate assessment of their availability. In particular, weighted algorithms for unequal servers have been implemented - which allows you to consider the performance and role of various nodes. For businesses, this means increased stability of critical services under load, the ability to use existing equipment more efficiently, and the ease of scaling the platform as the number of users grows.

The new version makes it possible to fine-tune the parameters of network and application connections. Switching to the current version of Astra Linux 1.8 OS improves performance and compatibility with modern products of the Astra Group ecosystem. A "smart" gateway has appeared, which becomes a single secure entrance to the Termidesk virtual environment. It supports not only traditional application traffic, but also services that utilize UDP connection. This expands the range of systems that can be securely published through the platform, and allows you to build more flexible access architectures for distributed offices and remote employees.

Version 1.2 enhances security at the perimeter and inside of the infrastructure. Customizable DDoS protection profiles have been added, allowing you to adapt defenses to a specific network and risk level. The mechanism of pre-authentication of incoming requests protects applications even before traffic enters the internal circuit, which is critically important for systems with high information security requirements.

Support for special server operating modes, including maintenance mode, makes routine operations more manageable: administrators can safely move nodes out of the cluster without noticeable impact on users and SLA, reducing unplanned downtime.

Licensing has been introduced, allowing for more transparent planning of infrastructure development. Support for standard monitoring protocols (SNMP v2/v3) simplifies integration with existing surveillance systems, allows you to build full-fledged dashboards and respond faster to incidents.

Additional configuration documentation capabilities directly in the interface, as well as preset default values for a number of parameters, reduce the likelihood of errors, speed up the commissioning of new installations, and simplify the work of distributed teams of administrators.

The web interface now supports English localization, which simplifies the implementation of the solution in international companies and projects involving external contractors. Advanced spreadsheet capabilities, a quick switch to click-through editing, and built-in documentation reduce time for routine operations and lower the entry threshold for new professionals. The adaptive design and refined interface logic ensure comfortable operation on different types of devices, increasing the overall efficiency of administration.

"The new release of Termidesk Connect is a guarantee of the operability and high availability of our customers' information services and applications. It can be used to build a fault-tolerant and geographically distributed infrastructure for any corporate services, from mail or containerization platforms to proprietary information systems under development," said Denis Mukhin, Director of Virtualization and Cloud Services at the Astra Group.
