Termidesk 6.0: a Platform for Scalable and Secure IT Infrastructures
Uveon — Cloud Technologies (part of the Astra Group) presents a large—scale software update for virtual workplace organization and application delivery - Termidesk 6.0. The release focuses on the further development of the TERA protocol, which now not only supports work with the Astra Linux OS full functionally, but also provides connection to Windows.
The implementation of TERA on physical PCs opens up a new use case – employees can securely connect to their corporate computers from anywhere. This approach allows organizations to deploy secure remote workstations quickly without any need to create a resource-intensive VDI infrastructure.
The new version offers extended support operating systems, including the macOS client and compatibility with RED OS for remote workstations, which significantly expands possibilities of using the solution in heterogeneous IT environments. Data protection mechanisms have been strengthened and system administration - simplified.
The development team has paid special attention to information security by implementing integration with JaCarta and Rutoken smart cards, as well as adding access filtering by IP addresses of client devices. These measures ensure compliance with strict information security requirements.
The vendor continues to develop functionality and partner integrations. An important step was support of the virtualization platform VMmanager from ISPsystem (part of the Astra Group), which provides customers with additional opportunities for flexible organization and scaling of IT infrastructure.
"The Termidesk 6.0 update implements many mission-critical features aimed at supporting various technical scenarios, simplifying administration, and improving platform performance. MacOS support, enhanced authentication and development of the TERA protocol confirm the solution readiness for implementation in heterogeneous IT environments, which allows even more customers to effectively solve their tasks," commented Denis Mukhin, Director of Virtualization and Cloud Services at the Astra Group.
