Termidesk 4.2. Update Across the Board
Uveon — Cloud Technologies announces a release of a new version of the software package for creating and administering infrastructures Virtual Workstations (VDI) Termidesk 4.2.
The product is designed to deploy full-featured VDI infrastructure and terminal services in enterprises, as well as ensure secure remote work of personnel from anywhere in the world and from any device. The Russian VDI solution is suitable for those customers who have used Microsoft RDS software and are looking for analogues for the Linux stack. Also Termidesk VDI is positioned as a full-fledged replacement for VDI from Citrix and VMware.
In the new version, the developers have implemented a number of changes that affected almost all components. So, the Connection Manager has a new authentication domain based on the RADIUS protocol, which supports centralized authentication and allows you to use a single database of accounts. Its use gives organizations ability to manage authorization and control user access to network resources.
Dynamic screen resolution support has been added to the "STAL Access via RDP" delivery protocol (directly and through the gateway). The Astra Linux STAL terminal server provides RDP connection of user workstations to virtual workstations under the Russian operating system Astra Linux Special Edition. The possibility of dynamic screen resolution expands the range of devices that can be used in such a workplace.
Other functions of the Connection Manager have also been improved in Termidesk 4.2: logging, resource providers, and a graphical interface. The termidesk gateway can now forward HTTP requests over TLS v1.2 (Transport Layer Security), which ensures confidentiality and integrity of data transmitted over the network.
The "session agent" now works with HTTPS protocol. The API interaction functionality has expanded, and a mechanism for recording events in Windows and Linux OS logs has been added. A new "Remote Assistant" component has been created for administrators and technical support staff, which provides access to the user's workplace screen through a remote connection session and allows voice transmission, which simplifies communication with the user.
"With each new release, Termidesk grows with modern, in-demand functionality. Thanks to constant interaction with customers and partners, we can effectively plan the development of products in accordance with their wishes. As a result, the market receives a universal domestic VDI solution for organizing access to corporate IT resources, which allows effective employee interaction regardless of their location," says Denis Mukhin, Business Development Director at Uveon - Cloud Technologies. "Due to additional flexibility provided to users and IT administrators, modern enterprises can scale their resources more efficiently, open or connect new offices, interact with outsourced employees, and ensure uniform information security standards."
The Termidesk 4.2 distribution is accessible by request.
