Compatibility confirmed between Termidesk VDI and Termidesk Connect with ROSA Virtualization

JSC "STC IT ROSA", a Russian developer of system and infrastructure software, and Uveon — Cloud Technologies, a Russian developer of unified workstation virtualization solutions, have confirmed the compatibility of the Termidesk VDI 6.1.1 platform and the Termidesk Connect 1.3 application delivery controller with the ROSA Virtualization platform version 4.0. Testing was conducted according to a test program and methodology, during which key functional scenarios were verified and their results were recorded.

The main part of the testing focused on verifying the operation of Termidesk VDI with ROSA Virtualization. Termidesk VDI is used to create virtual desktop infrastructure and organize secure remote work for employees. When paired with ROSA Virtualization, the solution can be applied in projects where customers require a domestic virtualization platform, virtual machine pool management, user desktop connectivity, and support for key remote work scenarios.

Under the test program and methodology, the following scenarios were verified: publishing and managing virtual desktop pools, working with base images, virtual machine power management, terminating and disconnecting user sessions from the admin portal, correct virtual machine naming, peripheral device connectivity, clipboard functionality, dual-monitor mode, and obtaining IP addresses from a DHCP pool during pool publishing. Testing was conducted for different remote access protocols, including SPICE and TERA, as well as for scenarios with Astra Linux Special Edition and Windows.

The testing confirmed the operation of a number of key Termidesk VDI scenarios with ROSA Virtualization. In particular, the following were successfully verified: migrating a pool to a new base image version, rolling back a pool to a previous image version, deleting a pool, powering virtual machines on and off, safe shutdown, reboot, and suspend. Also confirmed were session termination from the admin portal, correct naming of virtual machines within a pool, republishing a pool without duplicating existing names, redirection of built-in and USB cameras, USB headsets, USB storage devices, disks and folders, file transfer to virtual machines in a pool, two-way text and image clipboard sharing, dual-monitor mode, and obtaining IP addresses from a DHCP pool.

Additionally, Termidesk Connect was tested with ROSA Virtualization. During testing, the following were successfully performed: installation of Termidesk Connect by importing a virtual machine disk in qcow2 format, creation and configuration of two virtual machines, verification of Rapid TCP/UDP load balancing, and operation of the HA pair. Termidesk Connect can be used in remote access and load balancing infrastructure, including scenarios for connection distribution and service availability enhancement.
